Post-stressed concrete elements
|
The post-stressing technique consists of applying stress before the structure is used by tensioning the steel wires after the concrete has been laid. The wires can be inside or outside the concrete and can be adherent or non-adherent.
To satisfy the different on-site requirements, Tycsa PSC offers wires that comply with the specifications of the more common post-stressing standards.
All the wires can be supplied with different anti-corrosion screens. In the case of post-stressing, the steel wire can be covered with grease and a high-density polyethylene sheath, which is available in a variety of colours.
Special mention must be made of compacted steel wires with a resistance to traction much higher than that of the classic wire, thus enabling a reduction in the amount of material required and in the installation work.
The post-stressing technique is used mainly for bridge piers and floors, wide-span or heavy load structures, liquid gas tanks, silos, etc.
