The manufacture of prestressed concrete elements
|
Pre-tensioning consists in applying stress to wire and/or steel strands before the application of concrete and before their subsequent installation in the structure being built.
This technique produces prestressed concrete elements, such as beams, slabs, electrical or telephone cable posts, high tensile strength pipes, or railway sleepers, which are then used in construction. The manufacturing technique enables certain parameters affecting the process to be controlled and optimised. The result is extremely high quality concrete elements.
TYCSA manufactures pre-stressed wire in diameters of between 3 mm and 8 mm, and with a variety of breaking strengths and indent depths, should indented wires be needed.
In particular, TYCSA has obtained spectacular results in the production of corrosion resistant wire - especially useful in the manufacture of pre-stressed concrete pipes.
Two, three and seven wire steel strands are also available in a variety of diameters, and tensile strengths, to cover the wide range of clients' design needs.
